Weekly Words Challenge

I love to take pictures. Of course these days they are mostly of my kids. I have found some different blogs with photography challenges, but mostly they are more advanced than I have time to work on. Then I stumbled upon Tink's blog and the Weekly Words Challenge. She gives two words on Tuesday and you are to interpret them any way you want and post your photos the following Tuesday. This is right up my alley. Seeing as I am not putting photos of my kids here (well faces anyway) after I decided to just use their real names, I will be forced to take a few pictures a week of something else. Perhaps seeing the world just a bit differently than before.

This week's words:

Glass and Stone

Glass
My favorite glasses.

Did I mention, I love them?

Stone
The gravel at the bottom of the freshly cleaned fish tank.

I love the lighting on the second one. Great job! Btw, you can't be too literal or too vague. It's a matter of perspective. One time I post a picture of quarters for the word "change". LOL.

Oh, I REALLY wanted to get a photo of our fish tank, but I couldn't get it to come out right ... love that photo; how wonderful!

welcome to the challenge! It's addictive, isn't it?

I think literal is great - because glass and stone are beautiful by their very nature, and a literal slant just lets you appreciate their nature, without bells and whistles added by the photographer. However, I also think vague is wonderful! It's nice to have a mixture of interpretations every week. I love your glasses too - especially the second photo, because as Tink pointed out, the lighting is lovely. The beauty of "ordinary" objects is often under-rated, or passed over. And I LOVE that you flashed on stones in the fish tank - they're gorgeous - again, the beauty of ordinary things...

The stone picture makes me think of pirates and treasure for some reason. Don't know why. I just imagine gold and jewels sparkling below. Very nice. And the glasses picture is way cool!

Gee, Thanks WWC visitors!
I knew as soon as I saw glass that I would be taking pictures of those glasses. My hubby likes the first one, it looks like boobs apparently. Ha!
The gravel in the tank was a last minute idea, I took several shots from different places, stone through the glass etc. But as soon as I took that one I knew it was a keeper, I like the flash reflection, because it makes me think of a treasure sparkling under there too.

Karen, I thought the first pic was silicone baby bottle nipples! So I can see how your dh sees them as...ahem.

I like how you used different lighting for your 2 glass shots. And fish tank rocks! What a different angle on stone.

Come on over to my place for a visit as well. :)

Just an FYI, the glasses are from IKEA.

What's wrong with these? I think they are great. I love the reflectiveness of the glasses, and the fish tank stones... cool!
