here i am now

When Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, took the stage at the Democratic National Convention in Denver after their mom Michelle's speech, they had no idea their dad was going to be beamed in live via satellite. When Mrs. Obama told the girls she had a surprise for them, the potential first lady was pretty surprised at the response, according to CNN. "Is it the Jonas Brothers?" Malia asked. Now that is a normal little girl! They are just two little girls who have been waiting for this election to be over, because daddy promised them a puppy. I have a picture in my mind of those them tired late last night waiting for daddy to make his speech and the clapping and squeeing when they heard daddy say,"I love you both so much, and you have earned the new puppy that's coming with us to the White House,"during his victory speech.
Both of these parents worked so hard from modest beginnings and they are a close couple with nice normal kids---one thing people liked about the great Teddy Roosevelt and JFK was that they had young kids in the White House, which makes you think: this guy is our leader BUT he is an American family man first. And you love youthful energy.

My advice to the new first family - don't get a dog with a sensitive stomach!

Oh happy happy day!!! As an Obama voter, I am smiling. I didn't think I would get to watch much of the election stuff since I fell asleep at 9:00. Carly is sick so we were up many many times during the night and I had the great suprise of turning on the TV at 1:00 during our first awakening and seeing the results. I usually dread the new year....making you older and all but I can't wait for the new administration.

I already love the Obama family! I just really, really, really, hope he doesn't lose favor by doing something stupid like President Clinton did.

I didn't vote for Obama. But I am proud that our country voted him in. And I like his family...they seem very normal and approachable.
I hope that he does a good job - it's such a mess right now that it would be hard for anyone to clean up. But it sounds like his advisors are the best in the world.
Anyway, I'm proud and hopeful.
